Nothing like a perfectly crafted cappuccino on a dreary, snowy, windy, cold day. Visited Toronto this week and my expeditions through the streets of the Queens West neighborhood included a foray to Manic Coffee. Nothing manic about it. Just great coffee in a nice atmosphere. Competent and friendly baristas. Just enough vibe.
Founded in 2007, by Matthew Lee, Manic brews Intelligentsia beans with La Marzocco machines - always a good sign. Lee intensively studied the art, science, and business of coffee from it’s start as a bean, to the final cup. It paid off. Good stuff - with scones and gelato available as well
I'll be back.
